A MiG-29K training plane crashed over the Arabian Sea on Thursday night, the Indian Navy reported. One pilot has been rescued while searching by air and surface units for the second pilot.

“A MiG-29K training aircraft operating at sea suffered an accident around 5:00 p.m. on November 26. A pilot was recovered and air and surface units are searching for the second pilot. An investigation has been ordered to investigate the incident, “the Indian Navy said.
The Indian Navy has a fleet of more than 40 MiG-29K fighter jets based in Goa and also operated from the INS Vikramaditya aircraft carrier.
In January 2018, a MiG-29 K fighter plane had run over the Goa airport runway and crashed. The pilot, a trainee, managed to remove the hood and safely get away from the plane, which caught fire after crashing.
The incident occurred when the fighter plane, manned by a pilot-in-training, ran off the runway, the Defense Ministry spokesman said.
