MiG-29 crashes near Jalandhar – the Hindu

An Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29UPG from an air base near Jalandhar crashed on Friday. The pilot, however, safely ejected.

“On May 8 at 1045am, a MiG-29 aircraft airborne on a training mission from an Air Force base near Jalandhar encountered an accident. The aircraft had developed a technical problem and the pilot safely ejected as he was unable to control the aircraft, ”said the IAF.

The pilot has been rescued by a helicopter, he added.

An investigative tribunal has been ordered.
