Game 17 of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) has the defending champions Mumbai Indians take on the high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
After two disappointing losses to start their campaign, the Sunrisers have done well to perform well against players like CSK and DC. What would delight the Sunrisers most is the performance of Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma in the middle order when they decimated CSK on Friday.
However, they would be concerned about Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s physical form after the ace bowler limped off the field in their previous game, especially with a star-studded IM team waiting for them.
Speaking of the Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma and company come into this match with an impressive victory against KXIP. Aside from Captain Rohit Sharma’s fifty, Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard’s pyrotechnics also came to the fore, which could spell trouble for the rest of the IPL.
With the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult admirably leading the pace attack, the Mumbai Indians look well on their way to top the table once again at IPL 2020.
The last time these two sides met in an IPL game, MI outplayed SRH in a Super Over thriller, although the Sunrisers didn’t have Warner and Bairstow in that game.
With both set to star as the Sunrisers at the high-scoring Sharjah Cricket Stadium, we should be in for a very entertaining game on a double-headed Sunday at IPL 2020.

Launch report
An absolute racing festival is at stake in Sharjah despite MI and SRH possessing the best bowling attacks in the competition. The dimensions of the ground are against the bowlers, with more than 40 sixes having been hit at this location in two games of IPL 2020 at the time of writing.
Although there should be a hint of swing on offer with the new ball, bowlers will have a hard time and there will be little room for error. The change of pace has been relatively successful here, which is something hitters will be wary of in the middle.
Since this is an afternoon game, ideally both teams want to hit first and set a goal of at least 200, although you never know what safe score it is at Sharjah’s cricket stadium.
