Kings XI Punjab is finally out of the bottom of the IPL points table, thanks to a nervous double win in Super Over over the defending champions Mumbai Indians. This was only the third victory for the Punjab team this season, and once again they were pushed to the brink. However, for a change, they rose to the top and edged the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to sixth place. KXIP now has the same number of points as the SunRisers Hyderabad, who are in fifth place, but they need to be caught to get to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KRR), who have 10 points. KXIP co-owner Preity Zinta was delighted after the win and took to Twitter to express her joy and the many emotions she went through during and after the match.
“Actions speak louder than words while words fail me completely. Two super overs? OMG! I’m still shaking. I’m so proud of the #Kxip guys. What a game, what a night, what a feeling Thank you @lionsdenkxip for this supreme team effort Teamwork at its finest, “the actor tweeted.

By winning the draw and choosing to hit, the Mumbai Indians posted 176 of six in 20 overs, thanks to a valiant half-century of bombing by Quinton de Kock and Kieron Pollard at the end.
The South African wicketkeeper scored a patient 53 of 43 balls, while the West Indies all-rounder broke 34 of just 12 balls to add the final flourish.
In response, KL Rahul again made most of the scoring for his team, with a 77 of 51 balls, but it was still not enough to get his team over the line as the match was tied.

In the first Super Over, both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami displayed some exceptional skills in death bowling with the teams scoring just five runs as the match went into a second Super Over.
With a goal of 12 to win, KXIP’s Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle did the job with two balls to spare.
