IPL 2020 Mumbai Indians vs Sunrusers Hyderabad Live Score and Latest Updates: Mumbai wins the toss and opts to hit first. They have not changed. SRH has made two changes. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed are out. Sandeep Sharma is inside. David Warner forgot the other change!
ADVANCE: The Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match 17 of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) in Sharjah on Sunday afternoon. A win will potentially take either team to the top of the table, so neither unit will need much to play and no additional motivation. MI did a lot of good things in their win against Kings XI Punjab in Abu Dhabi – the higher order fired – most of them at least – and their two grand finalists, Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya provided the kind of final flourish associated with their last names. . The only real concern in hitting remains Quinton de Kock’s form – the South African just managed to score 48 runs in 4 games. MI would also be happy to see Jasprit Bumrah find his groove against KXIP. He was his best pitcher and came back at 2-18 in 4 overs. The Indian pacemaker got off to a nonchalant start to the tournament without picking up land and being unusually expensive.
SRH would like to maintain its winning streak after recording victories in its last two games. They weren’t exactly off to a great start to the tournament with losses to RCB and KKR. SRH needs its captain and lead hitter, David Warner, to shoot on top. That they’ve won twice without him actually being in his destructive prime is good news for them, but they would need his talisman to revert to their old habits as the competition gets tighter. Management would be delighted that Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma were involved in a match-change partnership in their previous encounter that would put less pressure on Kane Williamson in the middle order. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, with the new ball and in death and Rashid Khan in the middle, continue to be SRH’s top two bowlers.
Sharjah’s smaller dimensions could provide a huge feast with some powerful hitters in both lineups. The likes of Warner, Bairstow, Pollard and Hardik could be unleashed – bowlers beware!
