Meet Top JEE Leader Laksh Gupta: ‘With No Plans Abroad, Wants To Work For The Nation’

Main results of NTA JEE 2020: Laksh Gupta scored a perfect 100th percentile and All India rank (AIR 9) on the Main Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), the result of which was declared on September 11. The 18-year-old obtained the 99.77th percentile in the January session.

Last year, Gupta received a 100% scholarship offer to study at the Russian Higher School of Economics after winning a gold medal at the International Olympiad in Economics. But she left the offer because she intends to study in India.

Expressing his desire to work for the nation, Laksh told indianexpress.com, “If I also get a package of crore, I will not work abroad. It is this country that has given me every opportunity to become a successful person. In return, I will work for the development of my nation ”. Laksh is now focusing on JEE Advanced, which is scheduled for September 27. “If I decipher JEE Advanced, I will opt for Computer Science from IIT-Delhi, or a four-year degree program from IISc Bangalore.”

As for his preparation, Laksh said he spent four to five hours on the entrance exam. “For the main JEE preparation, I concentrated mainly on the NCERT books. Other than that, the tutorials provided by Vidyamandir classes benefited me. I also applied for the mock test online daily, and for reference in physics, I relied on HC Verma. “Laksh was a student at the Sanskrit school, Chanakyapuri. For JEE Advanced, he is following the online classes from his tuition center , NCERT and mock tests.

This year, JEE Main was postponed multiple times due to the COVID-19 lockdown and ran from September 1-6 following the COVID-19 guidelines. Laksh, who showed up for shift 1, said the government’s preparation was excellent. “I didn’t have any problems taking the exam. I wanted the exams to end as the career is also important. “

The youngest in his family, Laksh’s older sister Radhika Gupta is a student at the University of Delhi, his father Manish Gupta is a businessman, and his mother Meenu Gupta is a homemaker.
