HATHRAS: Restrictions on entry of media on the alleged victim of Hatharas gangrape Bulgaddhi village It will remain there until the Special Investigation Team (SIT) completes its investigation, Hathras Additional Police Superintendent Prakash Kumar said on Friday.
“The restriction on media entry into the village will continue until the SIT completes its investigation there. Due to the prevailing public order situation, no political delegation or individuals will be allowed to visit the village,” Hathras said. SP Prakash Kumar while speaking to the media.
Since yesterday, the media were not allowed to enter the town or meet with relatives. Police personnel have been deployed at the entrance to the village of Bulgaddhi, while SIT continues its investigation into the alleged case of gangrape in Hathras District of Uttar Pradesh.
The town witnessed a series of protests as all entrances leading to the town were closed. Section 144 of the CrPC was imposed to ensure law and order.
Personnel deployed at the town entrance were seen checking the IDs of people entering and leaving the town.
“There is no problem. I have no problem getting in and out of the village. The police verify the IDs of everyone who enters and leaves the village,” said Ramnivas Sharma, a resident of Bulgaddhi village.
“The police are checking Aadhaar’s card and allowing us to go. There is no problem here due to the presence of the police,” he said. Pradeep, another resident.
The 19-year-old Hathras victim died in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital on September 29, 15 days after she was allegedly gang-raped. All four defendants in the incident have been arrested.
The government has formed a three-member SIT to investigate the case and said the matter will be heard in fast-track court.
The post-mortem report says that the victim suffered a fracture of the “C6 cervical vertebra” and there were “extravasations of blood along the fracture line” and the underlying spinal cord was “bruised with ascending edema.” Furthermore, the autopsy report denies the rape charges.
