West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced today that the number of places in the MBBS course has been increased to 4,000 in state medical colleges following the addition of 250 places. The CM had previously insisted on the idea of ​​increasing the number of medical places in the state.

Mamata Banerjee used her Twitter account to inform students of the increased seats. “I am pleased to announce that we now have 4,000 MBBS seats for Bengal’s vibrant medical students with the start of the first MBBS batch at Purulia Govt MCH consisting of 100 seats and the addition of 150 MBBS seats at Gouri Devi Medical College,” he said. .

Candidates who have qualified for the 2020 NEET exam with the required minimum percentile would be eligible to participate in the counseling round.
