The Congress on Sunday described BSP chief Mayawati as a “Twitter behanji” and “non-declared spokesperson of the BJP”, “angry” with the grand old party “proactive” efforts to mitigate migrant workers and their miseries, in the middle of the coronavirus security lock.
Congress leader PL Punia struck again in Mayawati a day after the BSP is described Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with migrant workers a “drama”, in a language that is supposedly similar to that of the BJP. “The language and the tweets, the ‘Twitter ‘ behanji’ is clearly indicates that she is doing a press release for the BJP and sends,” Punia told reporters.
“She feels angry because of the proactive efforts of the Congress and its general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (in the mitigation of the poor in the midst of the difficult situation of blockage),” he added.
Punia also accused the BSP of having a “tacit understanding” with the BJP while the Congress’ SC cell president Brijlal Khabri said, “Mayawati is the undeclared spokesman of the BJP.” “There seems to be a tacit agreement between the BSP and the BJP, as both have called Rahul Gandhi meeting with the working poor as a drama,” said Punia.
Punia also accused Mayawati of being in silence in the midst of the alleged increase in the number of incidents of attacks on Dalits during the Yogi Adityanath government’s tenure in Uttar Pradesh.
“The list of attacks against Dalits is long, and is being held under the patronage of the government. We have been asking questions and fighting this thing. But, why is the self-proclaimed leader of the Dalits in silence?”, he asked.
