Finally, some cricket actions are resumed in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic. Taiwan will host the first of its kind, the Taipei T10 League, which begins on April 25. Up to eight teams will fight for maximum glory until May 17, when the tournament final is scheduled.
Hsinchu Titans, Taiwan Daredevils, TCA Indians, Swingers Chiayi, PCCT United, ICCT Smashers, Taiwan Dragons and FCC Foromsans are the eight teams participating in the league. All matches will be played on weekends, allowing cricket fans to enjoy all the action and not miss any of the games.
What is the format
These teams are divided into groups with the Daredevils, Titans, Dragons and Indians that are part of Group 1 and the rest of the sides that are part of Group 2. The organizers have adopted a unique format to discover the best four teams. In the league stage, all teams will play three games each and will be classified from 1 to 8 depending on their performances.
The first players from both groups will face each other in a semi-qualifier before which the other six lower-ranking teams will be divided into two other groups, namely Qualifying Group 1 and Qualifying Group 2. Of these two groups, two teams will qualify for the semis. The bottom four teams will fight for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively. The semifinals and the final will be played on May 17.
