New Delhi:
A massive fire broke out at an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) gas processing plant in Gujarat this morning. The fire is now under control, ONGC said, adding that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
According to initial information, around 3:30 am, three consecutive explosions occurred at two terminals of the Hazira-based ONGC plant in Surat. The explosion was followed by a massive fire that could be seen from a distance.
“A fire was observed at the Hazira Gas processing plant earlier today. The fire has been controlled. There are no casualties or injuries to any person,” ONGC said in a statement.

The sound of the explosion was heard at a distance of 10 km, according to eyewitnesses.
Fire trucks are present at the scene.
All terminals have been closed as a precautionary measure.
