In the midst of the current Coronavirus pandemic, studies have changed the date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange 2. Read on to find out more.
Hollywood continues to consider more release dates due to the Coronavirus pandemic. As the world stops to breathe deeply collectively, the production of movies, series and TV shows has been suspended amidst the blockade of COVID 19. The latest films to join the list are Doctor Strange in the Madness Multiverse and Spider-Man 3. Sony Pictures and The Walt Disney Co. announced the revised release schedules on April 24 and confirmed the delay.
The sequel to the 2016 Marvel movie Benedict Cumberbatch starrer was delayed from November 2021 to March 2022. Meanwhile, Sony decided to delay the release of its next Spider-Man movie, the third in the Tom Holland series. The film, which previously premiered in July 2021, will now hit theaters in November 2021, Fox News reported. In addition to this, the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be released in October 2022. The animated movie was originally slated to come out in April 2022.
While the release dates for these movies were delayed, not all of the announced changes to the Marvel movies were delays. Disney announced that Thor: Love and Thunder, starring Chris Hemsworth, will be delayed by a week until February 2022. The long-awaited film will feature Natalie Portman taking the hammer. Following the advice of health professionals around the world, the production of various Hollywood projects to promote the practice of social distancing was closed. This caused a ripple effect and even wreaked havoc on the film’s premiere in 2022.
