Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was admitted to AIIMS here after suffering a reaction to a new drug, was released on Tuesday. The 87-year-old congressional leader was released around 12:30 p.m., hospital sources said.

Singh was transferred to a private room in the Cardio-Neuro tower on Monday night. He was also tested for COVID-19 and his results were negative, the sources said.

The congressional leader was admitted to the hospital Sunday night after he complained of concern.

Sources said Singh had developed a reaction to a new drug and was admitted to AIIMS for observation and investigation.

Singh is currently a member of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. He was prime minister between 2004 and 2014. In 2009, Singh underwent successful coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS.
