BENGALURU: As of April 1, all persons entering Bengaluru from other states will need a negative RT-PCR report.

The quarantine surveillance app and hand stamps to track asymptomatic corona patients isolated at home are back.

These were announced after a meeting between the Minister of Health Sudhakar and the Commissioner of BBMP, Manjunath Prasad, the Chief Additional Secretary of Health, Jawaid Akhtar, the Commissioner of Health of Karnataka, Thrilok Chandra, the Special Commissioner of Health of BBMP, Rajendra Cholan, the BBMP Joint Commissioners and other officials.

“Even if the person enters the state through another district and later arrives in Bangalore, they will need to bring the RT-PCR report. There will be no personnel at the borders to check road travelers. Apartment associations and residents must check your neighbors and inform us of any violations, “Manjunath Prasad told TNIE.

Sudhakar said that more than 60 percent of COVID cases in the city are people with a history of interstate travel.

“1,400 cases were reported in Bengaluru, which is the highest in the last 4 months. There is an increase in cases every day. The mutant virus has been reported in India and 700 cases have been found so far. According to experts , it spreads faster than the original, “Sudhakar said, adding that the organizers of the programs will be fined for violating the rules.

Within 24 hours of a person testing positive, at least 20 primary and secondary contacts will be traced. Marshalls will be deployed in crowded places such as markets, bus and train stations, theaters, wedding halls, schools, universities and religious venues, to impose fines for violations of the COVID rule.

A restriction of 200 people for functions in closed places and 500 people for functions in open places has been imposed. Each room has an ambulance and it will be increased according to the requirement.

An ambulance will be placed in each room and more will be added as needed. Sudhakar said that more people in their 20s and 40s test positive and are asymptomatic.

The apartments are becoming COVID clusters. Information on ICU and bed availability will be available online within a week, he said. Sudhakar will speak with officials from the state election commission to discuss meeting restrictions and also called on people to avoid meetings for the next 2 months.

Authorities said 25 lakh of people over 45 will be vaccinated in Bengaluru and for this 450 centers have been set up in the center to give the injection to 80,000 people per day. However, people do not show up. They have established help desks, kiosks and nodal officials in hospitals to guide citizens. BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad said testing will be increased and 51,000 tests were conducted yesterday.

With the exception of RR Nagar and Dasarahalli, all other areas have reported an increase in cases. Sudhakar also visited Victoria Hospital and said that 400 beds have been reserved there for COVID-19 patients.

He said the number of beds will be increased and the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Thoracic Diseases, Bowring Hospital and Charaka Hospital will also be used for corona treatment, if necessary. The government has already spoken to private hospitals to put them on hold.
