A man allegedly killed his wife and two children before committing suicide in the Green City area of ​​Bathinda on Thursday.

According to the initial police investigation, the deceased man was a businessman whose financial situation has been quite bad lately, so he took the extreme step.

The deceased are being identified as Devinder Garg (41), his wife Meena Garg (38), their son Arush (14) and their daughter Muskan (10). According to police, the man allegedly shot and killed his family before shooting himself.

After hearing the sound of gunfire, there was chaos between the residents of Green City and the adjacent areas of the city.

After seeing the four bodies lying in a pool of blood inside their house, neighbors in the area informed the police.

Senior district police officers along with a team of personnel arrived on the scene and launched an investigation into the matter.

After the initial investigation, the police sent the bodies for an autopsy to the Civil Hospital.

Police have also recovered a suicide note from the deceased’s pocket. The deceased man was involved in online trading, but due to losses in the business, he was living in rented accommodation in the Green City area for a time, police said.

Bathinda Senior Police Superintendent Bhupinderjit Singh Virk said: “A man shot his wife and two children to death from a close range with a revolver before shooting himself. An eight-page suicide note was recovered from the place where the deceased had named people who were stalking him for money. On the basis of the suicide note, we have registered a case against nine people under Section 306 of the IPC. Some of these defendants are from Bathinda and other districts of the state and one is from Delhi. On the basis of the information, a manhunt was launched to catch the accused. The deceased who was involved in online trading was also registered under Section 302 of the IPC for killing his wife and children. “
