PATNA: At a time when JD (U) is upset by the way ally BJP took six of its seven MLAs in Arunachal Pradesh, RJD suggested on Tuesday to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to join the Mahagathbandhan and hand over the CM chair to Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. In return, RJD said it would make Nitish the prime minister candidate.
“RJD once named him (Nitish) the CM and now he should show great heart and let Tejashwi become the CM. He should now focus on Delhi and lead the opposition ”, former chairman of the state assembly and leader of RJD Uday Narayan Choudhary he told TOI.
He asked Nitish to focus on the politics of the Center. “We will make him the candidate for prime minister,” Choudhary said.
He said that there was anarchy in the NDA and that the BJP was swallowing up all the smaller parties in a planned way. “BJP is like a big fish that swallows the little ones. This is the reason why Shiv Sena left them. Even Akali Dal left the NDA on the subject of farm laws. Now is the time for JD (U), ”Choudhary said, adding that he was making such suggestions due to the dispute between BJP and JD (U) on various issues in Bihar, including the expansion of the cabinet.
When asked if he did not find the leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi fit to lead the opposition and wanted to replace him with Nitish for the post of prime minister, Choudhary replied: “May the time come.”
His statement came a day after the party leader of the congressional legislature, Ajit Sharma, made a similar proposal, calling on Nitish to switch to the Mahagathbandhan.
However, BJP state spokesperson Nikhil Anand said Choudhary’s statement was ridiculous. “They are daydreaming. RJD should first soften its relationship with Congress, instead of thinking about BJP-JD (U). They should be concerned about their own existence, which has been lost, “Anand said, adding:” Leaders such as Shivanand Tiwari, Abdul Bari Siddiqui and Uday Narayan Choudhary have lost their importance in RJD and are trying to attract Tejashwi by making such statements. to appease Tejashwi. ”
