MUMBAI: In a major decision, Maharashtra Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday allowed 4 lakhs of restaurants, bars and eateries in the state to start operations from the first week of October, just before Navaratri from the October the 17th. a meeting between industry organizations and the CM.

Industry leaders HRAWI and AHAR have welcomed the decision which they said will help them rebuild employment that has been stagnant since the last seven months of closure.
They said it will help generate revenue for the government. The industry generates around Rs 18,000 cr revenue, mostly in the form of excise duties and other licenses and fees from local bodies. Apart from social distancing, the use of disinfectants and masks will be mandatory.
“We thank Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who assured us today that the restaurants will be able to reopen in the first week of October 2020. His Excellency.
