Schools in Mumbai will not reopen on November 23. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation decided to keep schools closed in the city until December 31, 2020. However, schools in other parts of Maharashtra may reopen on November 23, according to instructions from the state government.
Schools would reopen in the state, except in Mumbai, after a 7-month hiatus under Mission Begin Again. the The state government has also issued guidelines or standard operating procedures, SOPs for students and teachers for conducting classes.. All schools that will open Monday for classes 9-12 are being sanitized, following the guidelines. Local civil authorities are helping schools disinfect it completely.
Additionally, schools that will reopen next week will need to follow health, hygiene, and other safety precautions before and after school. Parents’ written consent is also required for children regarding attendance.
Teachers attending schools will need to undergo an RT-PCR test for Covid19 after Diwali from November 17 to November 22, 2020. According to the Minister of School Education, Varsha Gaikwad, only one child will be able to sit on a single bench and classes will be held on alternate days.
