The accused has been identified as Yuvraj Hanuvate. He has been arrested. Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Chinchwad Police Station under sections 307, 353, 323, 279 and 24 (a), 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
If the reports are to be believed, the man continued driving until some cyclists pursuing the vehicle forced him to stop.
Earlier last month, a similar incident was reported in the national capital. A Delhi Traffic Police officer, who tried to stop a hastily driven car, was dragged on the hood of the vehicle for almost half a kilometer in the southwest area of Delhi Cantonment.
