MUMBAI: To honor the architect of the ruling three-party coalition, Sharad Pawar, on the occasion of his 80th birthday on December 12, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) the government has improvised a rural development scheme called the “Sharad Pawar Gram Samrudhi Yojana”.
La Yojana will frame some of the works that are usually carried out through the MNREGS job guarantee scheme under a new heading. “We will take some schemes out of the employment guarantee scheme and bring it under the umbrella of Gram Samrudhi Yojana. There will be absolutely no additional burden on the state treasury. The funds allocated for schemes under EGS will be used for the scheme,” he said. .
Currently, under the Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Plan (MNREGS), the department is implementing social forestry plans, measures to address drought, deepening of wells, construction of roads, baths and houses in the villages, and development of nurseries. . “EGS’s main emphasis will be on water conservation and water resources. The scope of both schemes will be expanded for the prosperity of the villages as Sharad Pawar wishes, ” the official said.
Under the EGS, the government implements more than a dozen schemes to provide 100 days of daily wage employment for agricultural workers.
