'Political earthquake' after the COVID-19 crisis: Maharashtra BJP Chief

Chandrakant Patil said a “political earthquake” would occur after the COVID-19 crisis.

Mumbai

Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil said on Wednesday that a national “political earthquake” would occur once the COVID-19 situation returns to normal.

Chandrakant Patil said Congressional leaders should try to keep their congregation together as several leaders will switch to the BJP.

“I heard that a state-level congressional leader was trying to attract Eknath Khadse (senior leader of BJP). You should know that Khadse has been a party leader for several years. There will be a national political earthquake, even in Maharashtra as several leaders of Congress will join the BJP after the COVID-19 crisis, “Patil told a Marthi news channel.

He said the BJP was waiting for the coronavirus threat to disappear.

“After that, the leader of Congress (who is trying to attract Khadse) will personally see the political earthquake. The leadership of the state Congress should try to keep his flock together. We are going to make a big dent in our Opposition. The BJP it will emerge stronger in the coming months, “said Patil.

The war of words between Khadse and the BJP leadership escalated on Wednesday, with Patil launching an open attack on the claims made by the disgruntled leader.
