In the case of people, trapped in cities that have police commissions, and eager to return to their home districts / talukas by ST buses, they will have to obtain permission from the nodal officer in question (deputy police commissioner) to undertake the journey, he said.
Elsewhere, individuals wishing to travel home will need to obtain permission from the district’s collectors / tehsildars, according to the statement.
A list of 22 of those individuals will be presented to the ST by the concerned nodal officer and a bus will be made available accordingly.
Those who wish to travel on a personal level can make use of a permit through a portal that will be activated on Monday, he said.
Upon receiving the permit, these individuals can apply to travel online with details (and also upload the received permit). A bus will be arranged for 22 of those people accordingly.
Parab also said that only one person will be allowed to sit in one seat, and that each traveler will have to wear a mask and wipe their hands while getting on the bus.
Buses will be disinfected with disinfectants and all rules related to social distancing will be observed during the trip.
The buses will not stop at any restaurant or food place during their journey given the closure and therefore passengers must organize their meal accordingly.
