Speaking to ANI, Anwar said: “Our performance was not as good as RJD and Left. They performed much better than us. If we had acted like them, there would have been a Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar. The people of Bihar wanted it. himself and had made a decision for a change. ”
Anwar further stated that the party needs to think very deeply about this matter.
“We will hold talks with our top leadership in Bihar, our electoral candidates and our Congressional District Committees, and we will reach a conclusion. We will then report to the High Command,” he added.
Congressional leader PL Punia praised Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for better performance in the elections and said that other alliances also performed well, but that the Congress party performed really poorly.
In the 2015 Bihar elections, Congress won 27 seats out of 41, but this time Congress fought for 70 seats, but only won 19 seats.
Backing up Tariq Anwar’s tweet, Punia said: “It is really important for the Congress party to review the situation.”
He also demanded an introspection from the Congress party on its poor performance in this election.
Bihar Congress leader Rishi Mishra also said that the left-wing party performed better than Congress and, in the end, Congress-led Mahagatbandhan was unable to form a government in the state in close competition.
In the 2020 Bihar elections, out of the 243 seats, 125 have gone in favor of the ruling coalition led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and 110 to rival the Grand Alliance. The Rashtriya Janata Dal emerged as the largest House party with 75 seats. The Lok Janshakti Party won just one seat.
