Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath declared on Friday that a new cancer hospital with modern facilities was ready in Lucknow and will soon be inaugurated by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
The CM’s statement was made during a review of development works in the Lucknow division comprising the districts of Lucknow, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rae Bareli, Sitapur and Unnao.
He asked officials to focus on keeping the Covid-19 positivity rate below 4 percent and the death rate below 1 percent. He said that special attention needed to be paid to infection control in Lucknow.
“Improve the recovery rate. Priority should be given to testing those in high-risk groups. The government has appointed new senior nodal officers for 16 districts, including Lucknow. Lucknow’s nodal officer would begin coordinating control of Covid-19 from Saturday. Special attention is needed to control the infection in Lucknow, ”said the CM.
Yogi called for better activation of the Covid Level-2 hospital in Unnao and said it should lead to a better recovery rate. She said the state government has come up with an elaborate plan to provide drinking water to villages that is high in arsenic and fluoride. She asked officials to install running water for those towns if necessary.

The CM asked to increase the surveillance of Covid in Hardoi. Speaking of Lakhimpur Kheri and the Tharu tribal community, Yogi said that their huts should be run by women’s self-help groups.
He said it was important to complete development projects on time with the desired quality. “The quality of the works must be such that they become symbols of public trust,” he said.
The CM also called for better maintenance of the cow shelters and the development of local places of tourist importance.
Lucknow Projects
Yogi said that of the total of 37 projects in Lucknow, each worth between Rs 10 crore and Rs 50 crore, 10 were complete and work was on a fast track for the remaining 27 projects.

Development projects for the capital city include the construction of a 200-room hostel for married professionals, an ophthalmology block, and a center for medicine and kidney transplantation at SGPGI; a transit shelter for nurses and a shelter for children at the KGMU and the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia state academy of administration and management in Chak Ganjaria.
Other projects include the construction of a multi-level parking lot at the Lucknow Bank of the High Court and a velodrome at the Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, in addition to the development of the second phase of the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University.
