The country’s “ largest ” start-up incubation center will be installed on a plot of about 2.5 lakh square feet in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, and Uttar Pradesh electronics corporation, the nodal agency commissioning designated by the state government, has already identified lands in front of the Amausi. facility airport.
The corporation is in talks with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), a central government company, to build and operate this startup incubator.
The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has raised the issue with the trade union ministry of IT and electronics to connect STPI to assist the state government in the implementation of the project.
Recently, STPI made a presentation to the state infrastructure and industrial development commissioner (IIDC) and shared the plan and scale of the project.
During the presentation, STPI had demonstrated its capabilities through the recently established state-of-the-art center of excellence in Mohali, Chandigarh.
“The proposed facility will be developed in the plug and play model, following global standards to offer an all-inclusive ecosystem that helps start-ups and innovators realize their dreams,” said Alok Kumar, additional chief secretary of the IT department. and state government electronics.
“This incubation center will operate on a hub-and-spoke model in which the largest incubator will act as the hub for all other incubators and government-recognized electronic cells in the state to draw synergies from the center for their development and capacity growth. ”Kumar added.
The state government also received a proposal from IIT Kanpur to establish a center of excellence in artificial intelligence in Noida.
The state government is also working with STPI to develop IT parks in various cities, including Meerut, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, the Bundelkhand region, and Bareilly, among others.

The Prayagraj IT Park has started and is operating at full capacity. Meerut IT Park is in advanced stages of development and is expected to be operational in November this year.
Construction work at the Agra and Gorakhpur IT parks is in full swing and is expected to be completed in December. These parks also provide incubation facilities.

STPI is also assisting the state government to establish the first center of excellence in MediTech at the Sanjay Gandhi Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information Technology and Electronics, Dinesh Sharma, has ensured the government’s full support for all agencies working to bring this project to fruition. The new state government start-up policy offers additional 50% incentives to start-ups based in the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand regions, as well as those in which the founders / co-founders of start-ups are women, divyangjan or belong to the transgender community. .
