LUCKNOW: About 22.2% of the symptomatic migrant workers, have tested positive in Uttar Pradesh, said the principal secretary health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad here on Tuesday.
Speaking in the official report, Prasad said: “About 4.75 lakh migrant workers in quarantine in the home have been studied by the ASHA workers. In total, we screened 565 people with symptoms that were evaluated for the Covid-19.”
Adding that the lab reports 117 and revealed that the 26 positive test, while the remaining 91 were found negative, Prasad said: “This suggests that the positivity rate among migrants was 22.2%, which is several folds high when compared with the corresponding figure of 2.6% UP.”
Follow home quarantine rules strictly: Prasad migrants
Following the finding, Prasad urged the migrant workers to strictly follow the rules of home quarantine in the larger interest of the members of his family.
