It is likely to move almost westward, reaching the southern coast of Tamil Nadu around Dec. 2, he said.

Under its influence, scattered to widespread rain activity was “very likely” in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh and southern Rayalaseema on Tuesday and Wednesday, the meteorological office said. .

IMD also forecast isolated heavy to very heavy rains with moderate thunderstorms and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during this period.

Isolated strong drops with moderate thunderstorms and lightning are also very likely to occur over the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh during December 1-2 and over the Rayalseema and Lakshadweep area on Wednesday, it added.
