Prime Minister Narendra Modi told his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen on Monday that Covid-19 had shown it was risky for global supply chains to rely heavily on a single source. “We are working together with Japan and Australia for diversification and resilience of the supply chain. Other like-minded countries can also join in this effort,” she said during their virtual interaction. Prime Minister Modi’s comments come at a time when more and more countries are moving away from their dependence on China.
In other news, a three-member team of central government officials has presented a report on the Covid-19 situation in Tripura. The only hospital designated as Covid-19 in the state has unused ventilators, dysfunctional X-ray machines and CT scans, no death audits and no waste management, the team found.
