Against the background of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis contracting COVID-19, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Sunday that he was being told to take care of himself and that he will now realize that the external situation it’s bad.
Raut’s remarks came after Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was recently targeted by the opposition for not leaving his home during the pandemic. Speaking to reporters here, Raut said Thackeray has given directives to ensure that Fadnavis, who is leader of the opposition in the state Assembly, receives the best treatment.
“We were telling Devendra Fadnavis to take care of herself. Now you will realize that the external situation is dire. The opposition was targeting the prime minister for not moving, ”Raut said, when asked if Thackeray’s annual speech in Dusshera on Sunday night would focus on the BJP.
Meanwhile, the state government, which is providing Rs 50 lakh compensation to families of police personnel who died due to Covid-19, has approved until October 21 the payment of more than Rs 103 million to 205 families. .
According to the details obtained from the Home department, they received requests from 223 families, of which 205 requests were approved for payment, five were rejected and 14 were sent to the health department to clarify the cause of death. Of the 223 claims, while 80 were made by the Mumbai Police, the remainder were from other parts of the state.
