There’s a bit of relief to the owners of vehicles whose documents are due for renewal from 1 February. The government has decided to extend the validity of the motor vehicle related documents, due to the continuity of the safety lock of the whole country. Now you can do this after the July 31, without having to worry about having to pay a fine or surcharge for late payment.

On Sunday, the government issued a statement saying, “In order to facilitate the citizens during Covid–19, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) has issued a lawful order of the prescribing of the fees paid on or after February 1, 2020 for the activity(s), including the renewal (of the documents) and in case the activity of the(s) is not completed due to the conditions for the prevention of Covid-19 pandemic, the fees paid shall remain valid.”

The statement also said, “If there is delay in the payment of dues as of February 1, 2020 until the lockout period would not have additional or late fee to charge for such delays until July 31, 2020.”

The term of notice was due to expire on 30 June. He had said, “he was warned that the documents for which extension of validity could not, or is not likely to be granted due to blocking, and which have expired since February 1, 2020 or expire until 30 June 2020, the authorities of Application are recommended for the treatment of such documents are valid until 30 June 2020,” an official statement had earlier said.
