Local trains canceled in Mumbai due to heavy rain and waterlogging – mumbai news


Local passenger train services in Mumbai were affected on Wednesday due to heavy rains. Parts of Mumbai received heavy rain Tuesday night, causing disruptions to local train services and waterlogging in certain areas.

Local train services are also affected by the rains that started from Tuesday afternoon. Central Railways services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Thane Train Station have been suspended. The port’s railway line between CSMT and Vashi has also been affected by the rains.

Western Railways also said they are suspending local train services due to waterlogging. Train services between Churchgate and Andheri train stations are suspended. Train services between Andheri and Virar train stations continue to operate.

Passengers at the Sion train station also faced difficulties due to the rain, as there was heavy flooding on the tracks.

Passengers at Kurla Train Station and Chuna Bhatti Train Station faced difficulties due to waterlogging. The streets of Goregaon were also flooded by the rains.

Central Railways also had to cancel one train from the outer station and reschedule three trains from the outer station due to heavy rains.

The Sion-Matunga highway was flooded due to heavy rains that started from Tuesday afternoon.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that Mumbai will see “a generally cloudy sky with heavy rain” on Wednesday. They also said that the Mumbai suburbs received 23.4mm of rain on Tuesday.
