With just 10 days until the first phase of the polls on October 28 for all 71 seats in Bihar’s legislative assembly, the BJP has again issued a clarification to dispel doubts among voters that the LJP is not part of its alliance.
“The BJP is very clear on their booth. LJP is not part of our alliance. We want to tell Chirag Paswan that he must not harbor any illusions. BJP-JD (U) is fighting against the elections and Nitish Kumar ji will be the prime minister, ”said Bhupender Yadav, head of Bihar BJP on Saturday.
Yadav’s comment comes in the wake of a statement released Friday by LJP chief Chirag Paswan that he is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Hanuman” and that his relationship with the BJP leader will not be affected by the statements of the other leaders of the ruling party in the Center and in Bihar. “The LJP is like Pappu Yadav’s RLSP and JAP, who are fighting to survive in the Bihar elections,” Yadav added.
The LJP is challenging the Bihar assembly polls on its own. The party had previously contested the Jharkhand assembly polls without the support of the NDA and had fared very badly.
Chirag’s Hanuman statement was not well received by JD (U). “He is a (modern) Kalyugi Hanuman who wants to oppose the NDA,” said JD (U) Chief Secretary General KC Tyagi.
The JD (U) leader expressed satisfaction with the way the BJP leaders have responded to Chirag’s claim. “Chirag has committed political hara-kiri. The very fact that Prime Minister Modi and CM Nitish Kumar address joint demonstrations says a lot about our alliance with the BJP, ”Tyagi said.
The NDA leaders privately agreed that the mere fact that they have to issue statements to counter Chirag and his love for the BJP is definitely creating some confusion among voters and party cadres. “The timely denial by the BJP leaders, to some extent, has helped clear up the confusion to a great extent,” said an NDA official.
BJP Bhupender Yadav leaders Manoj Tiwari and party chairman Sanjay Jaiswal launched ‘e-Kamal’ website and election song ‘Modi ji ki leher’ with party leader and actor Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ .
Yadav attacked Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, who promised to provide 10 lakhs of jobs if elected to power, saying: “Those who are not eligible for a job are talking about providing employment.”
“Employment can be provided by those who are eligible for a job. There are so many schools and universities open. He should at least be eligible to get a job and then talk about jobs, ”Yadav said.
The BJP deputy also called Tejashwi “a weak leader.” “The ultra-left forces want to spread their wings in Bihar again through RJD given its weak leadership under Tejashwi Yadav. The class war of these parties must not be forgotten, ”Yadav added.
