Live coverage of the Sushant Singh Rajput case: In a major event, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said Wednesday that it summoned Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preeet Singh and the designer of Simone Khambatta fashion for questioning in a drug-related case. An official said the actors were summoned after several alleged talks of them discussing drugs came to light during the investigation.
A senior NCB official related to the investigation told IANS: “Subpoenas have been issued to Deepika, Sara, Shraddha and Rakul for questioning.” In addition to four Bollywood actors, the NCB also summoned fashion designer Simone for questioning. Rakul, Simone and Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager Shruti Modi were questioned by the NCB on Thursday.

Deepika Padukone is expected to arrive in Bombay at 2pm on Thursday. She is currently in Goa for the shooting of a movie, which has now stopped production. It is said that she will take a chartered flight from Goa in order to reach the city of Mumbai and report to the NCB on Friday.

The NCB has clarified that it had issued a summons to Rakul Preet Singh on Wednesday to appear before her on Thursday but has yet to respond. Meanwhile, her team has said that it received no subpoenas in Mumbai or Hyderabad in the ongoing drug investigation.

Sources have revealed to CNN News18 that Deepika Padukone is having discussions with her team of attorneys on how to respond to the NCB subpoena in the ongoing drug investigation.
