In addition to the CBI investigation into Sushant’s death, the Enforcement Directorate and the Bureau of Narcotics Control (NCB) are investigating the money and drug laundering angles in the case. The NCB had arrested Rhea, Showik, Miranda, Sawant in connection with the drug case.
Sushant was found dead on June 14 at the Mont Blanc apartment in Bandra in Mumbai. Members of his family raised suspicions that Sushant had been killed.
The CBI recorded a case on August 6 in the Center’s notification after the Bihar government recommended a federal agency investigation into the complaint by the late actor’s father, KK Singh.
The CBI team arrived in Mumbai on August 20, a day after the Supreme Court gave its approval to the federal agency’s investigation. The CBI recorded the statements of several people in the case and also visited their apartment, Cooper Hospital and the Waterstone resort.
The CBI questioned Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, his brother Showik, Father Indrajit, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda, roommate Siddharth Pithani, personal staff: Neeraj Singh, Dipesh Sawant and Keshav Bachne. In addition to the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Office (NCB) are investigating the money laundering charge and the drugs angle, respectively. NCB also arrested Rhea, Showik, Miranda, Sawant in connection with the drug case.
