IPL 2020 match preview MI vs CSK: After a long delay, the new Indian Premier League (IPL) season kicks off on Friday when defending champions and four-time winners, Mumbai Indians take on three-time title champions Chennai Super Kings at Sheikh Zayed Abu Dhabi Stadium.
Two of the most successful IPL teams will attempt to start on a winning note immediately with Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai with a slight lead over MS Dhoni’s Chennai. CSK will not have Suresh Raina, a key member who left the team for personal reasons and will not participate in this season’s tournament. Following Raina’s departure, two CSK team cricketers, Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad, along with other staff members tested positive for COVID-19 as soon as the team landed in the United Arab Emirates.
Problems off the field may have put slight pressure on Dhoni and the rest, a team that relies on the experience of international players.
Mumbai, on the other hand, will miss Lasith Malinga’s services this season. She has been a consistent performer for the team and has played the role of a match winner for many years. While CSK’s bowling alley is its biggest advantage, Mumbai’s strong point is its hitting. In the spin department, Chennai looks to have the upper hand, while Mumbai pacemakers, led by sensational Jasprit Bumrah, hope to cause damage.
Not much is known about the field conditions in Abu Dhabi, but if it’s on the slower side, the Chennai spinners are likely to play a crucial role.
