LIVE MARKET: IT, Cement Stocks Perform Better in Limited Range Market

Indian markets slashed all their morning gains and fell into the red in the limited-range session on Tuesday before the Supreme Court hearing on a batch of petitions seeking a waiver of interest on loans during the moratorium period.

Among the major indices, the S&P BSE Sensex traded around 40,530 levels, down 58 points, and the Nifty50 index hovered around 11,900 points. HCL Tech (up 4%) was the top winner for Sensex, followed by Ultratech Cement (up 2%). On the other hand, ICICI Bank, Titan and Bajaj Finance fell 1% each.

The trend among the Nifty sector indices was mixed, with the Nifty Private Bank Index, which was down 0.9 percent, leading the losers list.
