: National benchmarks fluctuated between gains and losses in the volatile session on Friday. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented
in the Lok Sabha.
The S&P BSE Sensex was trading around 46,920 levels. The index reached an intraday high and low of 47,424 and 46,564, respectively. The broader Nifty50 index hovered around the 13,760 mark. IndusInd Bank was up 5% and was Sensex’s top winner. Additionally, Sun Pharma gained 3%, and ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank each rose 2%.
Among other individual stocks, TVS Motor rose as much as 10 percent after announcing its December quarter results, while Tata Motors rose 4 percent above its quarterly results.
The Nifty sector indices were trading mixed, with the Nifty Auto, Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma indices falling 1% each.
Meanwhile, Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) was trading at a 4 per cent discount on its issue price at Rs 24.90 on the NSE.
