Hosts Australia won the draw and opted to play India in the first of three Twenty20 Internationals on Friday December 4 at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Canberra is the place where visitors have recorded their only win of the tour so far. India beat Australia by 13 runs in the third and final ODI on Wednesday and tourists are hoping the format change will bring a fresh start after a 2-1 loss in the ODI series. Fresh out of the Indian Premier League, most Indian players and some Australian players have had enough practice from the shorter format and changing the format from 50 to more than 20 shouldn’t be a problem. Players like Manish Pandey, Sanju Samson and T Natarajan are likely to enter the mix more often as Australia will miss David Warner’s experience. D’Arcy Short, Warner’s replacement, and the likes of Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell will seek to fill that void. (LIVE SCORE CARD)
