CSK are at the bottom of the point table.
That’s it from us folks! Hope you enjoyed another cookie in Dubai. Until next time then …
Scared #CSK once again left it up too late. And I must admit that I can’t remember the last time I saw Dhoni physically exhausted. It also illustrates how difficult these conditions are.

SRH wins by seven races
Another team that hit first has won in Dubai. This was pretty close, but CSK left it a bit late. The first lands did not help. Jadeja fought, Dhoni fought and in the end Curran also crushed some. But it was not enough. CSK needs to solve intermediate problems. Jadhav and Rayudu were disappointing. Du Plessis looked good, but Watson kept fighting. Bowlers didn’t finish well either after SRH battled 69-for-4 on a stage.
This is how the last one was:
28 of 6
Can CSK do it? Samad will drop the last envelope. Terrible of Khaleel in the 19th century. A limit and a four from Dhoni on that trade have given CSK an outside opportunity.
Mass concern of SSR injuries. Bhuvneshwar Kumar walks away with a hamstring injury. 43 needed from 11 …
4, 2, 6, Shutter, 6 (Curran) and 1 – Jadeja reaches 50 but falls on the next ball. CSK needs another 44 in the last two overs.
First IPL fifty for Jadeja! There’s no ‘Sword’ celebration as she’s drenched in sweat. #CSKvSRH #IPL
05:35 PM ?? Oct 10, 2020
4, 4, 4, 2, point, 1 – Jadeja begins his assault. CSK needs 63 in the last three overs …
86 needed in last five overs. Will MS Dhoni’s script achieve a miraculous victory?
Four …
Abdul Samad joins in the fun and gets a window. Loopy broke Samad’s leg and Jadhav covered him directly.
CSK 42 for 4
Disaster for CSK
Jadhav played on the right side and du Plessis was slow to take off. Garg gets the shot, but the ball threw Bairstow’s gloves off. Luckily for them, the ball crashed into the stumps. Du Plessis, who had hit back-to-back boundaries, falls as CSK ends the power play fighting in the chase.
MS Dhoni comes out to bat.
CSK 36 by 3
Rayudu is gone
He’s averaging nearly 50 against SRH, but he’s up 8 today. Natarajan sent him packing. He released the outer leg and left Rayudu. He tried to defend it and failed. Rattle of death.
CSK 26 for 2 in 16
It is not another CSK chase where the required rate shoots up to 15 again. Please no.

Watson goes
Bhuvneshwar kept peppering him with incoming deliveries and Watson was looking for a way out. Out and Watson wanted to cut that one. He cuts it back to his stumps.
CSK 5 for 1
Okay then, Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson to open. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will start for SSR. Can CSK pursue this?
SRH large finish
They do 164 for 5 with Priyam Garg doing half a century. Really good recovery is. Garg and Abhishek Sharma scored 77 for the fifth spot helping SRH rebound from the Williamson and Warner grounds. CSK lost the plot a bit in the end. Three fall sacks and a no-ball wicket as well. Can CSK pursue this? Remember that all the teams that hit first have won in Dubai.
SRH push
22 from the 17th. Sam Curran the bowler. Priyam Garg, the batter. The association is now 64 of 37.
SRH 133 for 4
5 overs to go – SRH 100 times 4. How many can they get?
Have you ever seen Kane Williamson angry? Now I’ve seen it all … #CSKvsSRH # IPL2020

SRH reel
Two wickets in two balls for CSK. Warner was looking to raise the ante and is stuck at the Chawla bowling alley.
The next ball, Williamson works the ball on the inside side and takes off. Shocking call from Williamson, who was sent back. It has been easily depleted.
SRH 70 for 4
David Warner is IPL 6 (6) 36 (30) 45 (33) 28 (29) For the second time only, David Warner has failed to score 50+ in four straight innings for SRH. The first instance will arrive in May 2016. #CSKvSRH # IPL2020
03:02 PM ?? Oct 10, 2020
10 over done
Things have slowed down a bit for SRH. It’s 63 times 2 in the middle of the road. Warner is hitting 23 of 25, while Williamson is adjusting and has faced 11 deliveries.
Two down
Another opportune wicket for CSK. Pandey was looking to confront Shardul and is terribly wrong in his execution. It broke straight in half. Kane Williamson enters at number 4.
SRH 47 for 2
Manish Pandey is off to a good start at No. 3. It was the match against CSK last season that gave him new life in the IPL as a one-drop hitter #CSKvSRH # IPL2020
02:18 PM ?? Oct 10, 2020
Powerplay done
Wicket on the first change, but SRH has done well from there. They have scored seven runs over with Warner and Pandey looking to rebuild the inning.
SRH 42 for 1
First entry
Chahar has fired the dangerous man Bairstow. After the ball moves away, go back in. The balls hit the pads and remove the stump. Much needed early window for CSK. Manish Pandey enters at number 3.
SRH 1 for 1
Pitch: Unchanged SRH wins the pitch and opts to hit.CSK incorporates Shardul, Bravo and Rayudu in place of Vijay, Ruturaj and Hazlewood
SRH – David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow (w), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad, Abhishek Sharma, Priyam Garg, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, K Khaleel Ahmed, T Natarajan.

Hello and welcome to the live blog of the IPL clash 2020 between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“All offers are on the table at the moment until we find a way that we are comfortable with,” Stephen Fleming said at the end of his team’s loss to Delhi Capitals in Dubai. Since then, they’ve had six-day downtime to plan and chart their way out of an unfamiliar position – the bottom of the scoreboard. Fleming’s comments were about finding the right team mix for the season ahead after being twice outbid in two games.
One of the biggest challenges for all teams entering this season has been not only identifying their best XI players, but also being able to quickly recalibrate their findings based on where they play. The IPL in India still came with the luxury of seven home games, around which teams and squads are built, while the away games also had a sense of familiarity, considering the venues at stake. The three UAE venues, at least in this early leg of the season, are making teams work harder behind the scenes.
CSK’s problems have been compounded by the fact that they played the first game in two of the three venues and had no previous data on which to base their strategies. Dew has also played hide and seek in all three venues, playing by the decisions captains make in the toss. What has perhaps been most discouraging for Dhoni is the inability of his spinners to take control of matches in between. The ineffectiveness of Ravindra Jadeja in particular [2/42, 0/40, 0/44] has hit CSK, leaving them vulnerable to a counterattack in the aftermath of PowerPlay.
The Hyderabad Sunrisers have also been slow to get their engine running, ranking ahead of CSK at the table only on the basis of a higher Net Execution Rate. While CSK’s quest for balance is not without reason, SRH has actually put up the flip side of being very rigid about it. Until his win against Delhi Capitals, Kane Williamson stayed on the bench so SRH could line up two foreign players on either end of the lineup to complement a rather inexperienced middle order. That ploy, as good as it is on paper, was ripped apart by both RCB and KKR. Williamson stepped to the side for his game against an undefeated DC, and immediately showed the benefits of that move.
Six days since Fleming responded to the need for clarity and to ignore confusing thoughts, he sounded quite optimistic about the time he spent out of action and expressed relief that he had a consistent series of games in the same place (four of the next five CSK games in Dubai). What remains to be seen is whether CSK can shake off the groggy start and put all of its back-end efforts to good use as the games quickly progress into October.
