What’s new in iOS 14
The iOS 14 developer preview was released in June and many were using the public beta until now. We download iOS 14 and use iOS 14 in the last few weeks. We have to admit that iOS has gone through some massive changes including Siri receiving a very late update, but a good one indeed. The home screen was also updated where you will now see the App Library, a screen where you can find all your apps. iOS 14 also comes with widgets in different shapes and sizes. Users will be able to add widgets to the home screen, such as widgets for the Note app, weather, actions, and more.
Picture-in-Picture feature comes to iPhones. For those of you who don’t know, picture-in-picture is a feature of iPads and it’s finally coming to iPhones. The moment you close the YouTube application while watching a video, picture-in-picture appears.
Messages, the outdated app is finally getting a major makeover and will likely become one of your favorite iOS 14 apps. With iOS 14, you can pin messages to the top and it also brings a host of updates to group messages.
Some of our favorite iOS 14 picks include that Siri now doesn’t fill the entire screen and appears as a rounded black pop-up at the bottom of the screen. The next thing is that phone calls now appear as a pop-up window at the top of the screen, which means it won’t disturb you while you type.
Privacy is once again at the core of the new iOS 14 update and users will start to see an orange and green light at the top of the screen when the device’s camera or microphone is in use. A brilliant implementation where nothing changes for the user, but they can understand how different applications access user data.
