Previously, on June 29, the government had blocked access to 59 mobile applications and again on September 2 it had banned 118 more applications under section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
“The government is committed to protecting the interests of the citizens and the sovereignty and integrity of India on all fronts and will take all possible measures to ensure this,” the statement added.
