Lionel Messi has a 50% chance of remaining at his current club, but could still join Paris Saint-Germain, according to a new report from Spanish radio. The report goes on to say that whatever happens, the Argentine star will move to Miami in two years.
It was reported that a meeting scheduled to take place with his father Jorge Messi, who is also his agent, present was canceled. The meeting, which is said to take place at the residence of singer Julio Iglesias in the Dominican Republic, was meant to discuss the player’s life should he decide to move to Paris.
The meeting was not with representatives of PSG directly, but it would have meant a great step in the movement proposed by the # 10 to the Parisian club.
But apparently, the election of Joan Laporta to the presidency of FC Barcelona changed things for Messi. While there is still a good chance that he will move to a new club, it is said that there is also a chance that he will stay. If Laporta had not won, it is understood that there was no possibility that Messi would stay.
Perhaps even more intriguing, the report says Messi’s father has told people that whatever happens, his son will move to Miami in 2023, after two more seasons in Europe.
Inter Miami and former Real Madrid and Manchester United star David Beckham recently hinted that he was in the shoes of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I know that in Miami our fans want to see big stars,” he said.
“We already have players like Gonzalo Higuaín and Blaise Matuidi, but in the future we want to have the opportunity to bring in big names.
“Leo and Cristiano have been mentioned, they have been at the top of their game and they have been the best for the last 15 years.”
