NEW DELHI: Appeal to protests farmers come forward for discussions on agricultural laws, BJP senior leader and Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday he said the government will amend the laws if they are not beneficial.
Describing the protesting farmers as his own people, Singh said: “Those who are sitting in dharna are farmers and they were born into farming families. We respect them very much.”
Addressing a rally in Dwarka in the national capital, Singh said that he himself is the son of a farmer and assured that the Modi government “will never do anything that is not in the interest of farmers.”
Asking farmers to test the new farm laws as an experiment, the first Bjp The president said that if these are not beneficial, the government will bring necessary modifications.
“Let the farm laws run for a year or two. Let’s try this as an experiment, and if it is not found in the best interests of the farmers, the government will be ready for all possible amendments,” Singh said.
Stressing that all problems can be solved through dialogue, Singh said that the prime minister Narendra modi he wants talks to continue with farmers, so the government has extended an invitation to them.
Singh appealed to all protesting farmers to come forward for discussions on farm laws.
