The BMW 3 Series Grand Limousine has a longer wheelbase than the standard 3 Series sedan and will likely be powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and a 2.0-liter diesel engine.
Following the launch of the 2 Series Gran Coupe, X3 M, X5 M Competition and 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow Edition over the past few months, BMW India is preparing to introduce the 3 Series Gran Limousine on January 21, 2021. The La LWB variant of the regular 3 Series will mark the German luxury automaker’s first launch on the domestic market in the new year.
What’s more special is that the 2021 BMW 3-Series Grand Limousine for India is the first right-hand drive model of its kind in the world. As has been the case with the extended wheelbase models, BMW has increased the standard 3 Series wheelbase to make way for the Gran Limo by 110mm and the overall length of the sedan has been increased by 120mm along with increased height. .
The Series 3 Gran Limo will act as a replacement for the Series 3 Gran Turismo, which was well received by local customers (production ended earlier this year globally). Increased dimensions have increased legroom by 43mm for rear occupants along with longer rear doors for easier entry and exit. Additionally, BMW engineers have improved overall comfort levels with better cushioning of the seats.
On the outside, the differences between the regular Series 3 and the Grand Limousine are too subtle, so much so that it would be difficult to decipher them. The space for the driver and front passenger remains the same as in the regular model. Some of the card’s standout features are an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with BMW iDrive and a panoramic sunroof.
Elsewhere you can also find an LED lighting system, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, and a host of equipment based on comfort, convenience, safety, and connectivity. In terms of performance, the same 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine developing 258 horsepower and a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine producing 190 horsepower will be used as in the standard model.
The BMW 3 Series Grand Limousine ranks just above the 3rd and 5th and could be priced at around Rs. 45 lakh to Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom).
