Launch of Covid-19 vaccine portal, all data linked to research, clinical trial, says Harsh Vardhan


The Union Ministry of Health launched an online portal on Covid-19 on Monday with the latest information on the coronavirus disease.

The web portal will have data on the development of the research, clinical trials on a possible Covid-19 vaccine in India, its launch date and other information, said Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan.

“An online portal about the Covid-19 vaccine has been launched. Anyone will be able to access this online portal and search for all the information related to clinical trials and contemporary research. It will also provide information on other vaccines provided in the country, ”Dr. Vardhan was quoted as saying by the ANI news agency.

The Health Ministry also said that the first vaccine in India will likely be available by the first quarter of 2021.

“Research is being done rapidly to develop a vaccine. There are at least 3 viable candidate vaccines that are in the clinical trial phase at this time in the country. We expect it to be available in the first quarter of 2021, ”added Dr. Vardhan.

The Ministry of Health also released the 100-year chronological history of the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR).

“Today is a historic day for ICMR. It is an honor for me to publish today the 100-year timeline of ICMR’s history within its facilities. The contribution of the scientists associated with it is commemorated and serves as inspiration for future scientists, ”he added.

India’s Covid-19 count surpassed the 60 lakh mark on Monday after the country reported an increase of 82,170 new virus cases, according to data from the Union Ministry of Family Welfare and Health. India’s case count is now 60,74,703, with 95,542 deaths due to the coronavirus.
