MUMBAI: In a major development, Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray transferred Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi as additional chief secretary in the urban development department (UDD), while Iqbal Chahal, who is currently chief secretary at UDD, was named new BMC notary.
Former Thane city commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal, who was awaiting a new post, has been named additional BMC city commissioner, replacing current incumbent Abasaheb Jarhad, who has been appointed relief and rehabilitation secretary.
In addition, former MD Ashwini Bhide of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has been appointed additional municipal commissioner, while aid and rehabilitation secretary Kishorraje Nimbalkar was transferred as secretary of the public works department, replacing Manoj Saunik, who will be the additional chief secretary of the state finance department. Saunik was in charge of the Public Works and Finance departments.
