Lashkar front plans prayer meeting in Pak for 10 terrorists who carried out on 11/26

Twelve years after the 11/26 attacks, Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD), the Pakistan-based political front of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) responsible for the brutal attacks, has planned an event in the city of Sahiwal in Punjab on Thursday. to commemorate the Mumbai massacre by asking his cadres to organize special prayers for the 10 terrorists who carried out the terrorist attacks.

According to intelligence reports, a special prayer meeting will be held at all LeT / JuD mosques to remember those who carried out the 2008 attacks on multiple locations in Mumbai that killed 170 people, according to security officials familiar with the done. Nine LeT gunmen were killed by Indian security forces, while one, Ajmal Kasab, was hanged after due process of law on November 21, 2012.

To add fuel to the fire, the JuD, at the behest of the deep state of Pakistan, has also launched the JK United Youth Movement (JKYM), a political forum to support separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir, as Islamabad’s tactic to rallying the international community against India has failed.

According to intelligence inputs, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, the operational commander-in-chief and the head of LeT’s jihad wing, visited LeT and JuD co-founder Hafiz Saeed at his residence in Lahore’s Johar Town in the last week of October. The meeting, officials said, was related to raising funds for the jihad. Saeed, sanctioned by the UN Security Council with a $ 10 million bounty on his head, is responsible for India’s planning of the Bombay attacks.

The officials added that another meeting of JuD officials and some 70 businessmen was held in Markaz Aqsa in Gujranwala city on November 13. At that meeting, the group solicited donations from businessmen to continue their terrorist activities in Kashmir. Intelligence inputs suggested that similar meetings were also scheduled elsewhere in Punjab province.

Intelligence inputs suggested there is a concerted effort by JuD / LeT to collect funds from Pakistani soil to foment trouble in Kashmir, even though Islamabad denies harboring terrorists.

Officials said a meeting of JuD cadres was held at Jamia Masjid Toheed in Lahore on February 26. The site was adjacent to Saeed’s heavily guarded residence, and he attended the meeting along with other JuD officials. Saeed told the attendees that they should not worry about the court cases against the JuD leaders and the situation in Kashmir (in view of the annulment of Article 370), as these are “temporary issues”.

On November 19, a Pakistani court sentenced Saeed and two close associates to prison terms totaling 10½ years in two terrorist financing cases, a decision likely influenced by pressure on Islamabad by the Task Force. financial (FATF).

These cases are not even remotely connected to the Mumbai attack case, according to the officials cited above. Since Saeed is already in jail serving two five-and-a-half-year sentences that were given to him earlier this year, he will not serve any overtime in jail.

According to people familiar with the events, Saeed’s sentencing was largely due to pressure on Pakistan from Western powers and the FATF to crack down on terrorist groups and terrorist financing, including prosecuting those who funnel funds to terrorists.

Officials said that although some LeT leaders have been declared “arrested,” it is clear that they have only been taken into “protective custody” and housed in their residences with complete freedom to operate and execute the team’s activities, including the fund. lifting.

The officials added that the Pakistani government has refused to act based on “irrefutable evidence” provided by India against the perpetrators of the 11/26 Mumbai attacks and has maintained that there was insufficient evidence against Saeed and others involved.

According to Indian security officials, the perpetrators of the attack are: Saeed (Lahore), Lakhvi (Islamabad), Yusuf Muzammil (Islamabad), David Coleman Headley (detained in the US), Tahawwur Hussain Rana (detained in the US). Sajjid Majid (Lahore), Abdur Rehman Syed (Lahore), Major Iqbal (Lahore), Major Sameer Ali (Lahore), Illyas Kashmiri (deceased), Abu Qahafa and Mazhar Iqbal (charged by Pakistan in connection with the Mumbai attacks).

The Pakistani government and its deep state have shown time and again their unwillingness and inability to confront the LeT, as well as other Indian-focused terror groups operating from its soil, officials said.
