Land Row: Sanjay Raut criticizes the BJP, says it will be in opposition for 25 years | India News

MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena said on Friday the accusations of land deals between the families of the Prime Minister of Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray and the late Anvay Naik were attempts to change the direction of the investigation into the suicide of the Alibaug interior designer.
The main spokesperson for the ruling party, Sanjay raut, attacked the BJP and criticized its former deputy Kirit Somaiya, who made claims for land deals between the two families on Wednesday and sought an investigation.
Further lashing out at the main opposition party, Raut said: “We will ensure that the BJP remains out of power for 25 years in Maharashtra.”
When speaking to journalists, Raut lost his cool and referred to the BJP as “shethji’s party” and called Somaiya a “vyapari” (merchants).
“Shethji party / merchant spokespeople are unwilling to talk about the widow of a Marathi woman (referring to the wife of interior designer Anvay Naik).
“She and her daughter are crying out for justice and when we are trying to ensure that they get justice, these people are making accusations to divert the direction of the investigation towards suicide. This is a serious matter,” Raut said, hitting the former ally. of Sena.
A land agreement between the two families was legally made in 2014, said Rajya Sabha MP.
“Does (Somaiya) have a problem that a Marathi person made the deal?” He said, adding that no matter how long the MVA government led by the Sena lasts its full term (until 2024).
“We will ensure that the BJP remains out of power for 25 years in Maharashtra. Our position is to do justice to Anvay Naik’s family and punish those who legally forced him to take the extreme step of ending his life,” Raut said.
“Shethji’s party wants to protect the accused,” the Sena leader said in an apparent reference to the television journalist. Arnab goswami, who along with two others, has been accused of instigating the suicide of Anvay Naik and her mother for failure to pay their company fees.
“What 21 deals is (Somaiya) talking about? Show me even five. There was a transaction that was absolutely legal,” Raut aid said.
When asked about the demand for an investigation by the Directorate of Execution into the alleged land deals, Raut replied: “Why only ED … that there be a CBI. Go to Interpol, FBI, KGB, Interpol and the United Nations.
Somaiya has alleged that there were multiple land deals between Uddhav Thackeray’s wife, Rashmi, and Anvay Naik, who allegedly committed suicide on May 5, 2018.
“How are you linked to the accused? Aren’t you worried about the mother-son duo that ended their lives?” Raut asked, pointing to the former BJP MP.
Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV, was arrested by Alibaug police in neighboring Raigad district on November 4 and released from jail on November 11 after the Supreme Court granted him provisional bail in the case.
