After the Indian army thwarted a provocative move by the Chinese army in eastern Ladakh, the Chinese embassy claimed that Indian troops “illegally trespassed” the Royal Line of Control on the southern shore of Lake Pangong.

China’s attempt to unilaterally change the status quo at Pangong Lake was the first major incident in the area after clashes in the Galwan Valley on June 15, in which 20 members of the Indian military were killed.

“On August 31, Indian troops violated the consensus reached in previous commitments and multi-level negotiations between China and India, illegally trespassing the Royal Line of Control again on the southern shore of Pangong Tso Lake and near Reqin Pass in the western sector of the border between China and India, and they carried out flagrant provocations … ”, stated the statement from the Chinese embassy.

“What India has done goes against the efforts made by both sides over a period of time to alleviate and cool the situation on the ground, and China resolutely opposes this. China has made solemn representations to the Indian side, urged the Indian side to strictly control and restrict its front-line troops … immediately withdraw its troops illegally crossing the Royal Line of Control … ”, she added.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the border between India and China has not yet been demarcated because there will always be problems and that the two countries must implement consensus between their leaders not to allow Let differences turn into conflicts.

“The border between China and India has not yet been demarcated, so there will always be problems of this kind. We are ready to handle all kinds of issues through dialogue with the Indian side, ”he said.

At the same time, these issues should be placed in their rightful place in bilateral relations, he said, adding that President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi met many times and reached many important consensuses.

For example, instead of “the dragon and the elephant compete with each other”, “the dragon and the elephant dance together”, “1 plus 1 is not 2, but 11” and so on. All of these are philosophical views, ”he said.
