Lok Sabha MP Bandi Sanjay had suggested that intelligence agencies should keep a close eye on KCR.
Telangana Industry Minister KT Rama Rao has strongly opposed the comment of BJP State Chairman Bandi Sanjay Kumar that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has ties to terrorist groups. Both the TRS and the BJP have filed complaints against each other with the State Elections Commission (SEC) for derogatory comments.
KT Rama Rao, who is also the acting chairman of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), said that the BJP leader is lowering himself to a new low. “To make unsubstantiated comments that the Honorable CM has ties to terrorist groups is to stoop to a new and more reprehensible rhetoric,” he tweeted. He is also the son of the prime minister.
“Let’s fight the elections as they should be fought without making absurd, illogical and ridiculous comments like these,” he added.
Bandi Sanjay, a deputy from Lok Sabha, tweeted that there are doubts that KCR has ties to terrorists and suggested that intelligence agencies should keep a close eye on KCR.
The TRS, in response, has filed a complaint against Bandi Sanjay Kumar for disparaging remarks against the Chief Minister. The party also demanded the arrest of the BJP president on charges of hate speech and violation of the model code of conduct.
The BJP, on the other hand, also filed a complaint with the SEC alleging that Telangana’s chief minister made defamatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party claimed to the SEC in a letter that the Prime Minister made “abusive and unwarranted” remarks against the Prime Minister. The party claimed that the accusations against the BJP for creating communal tensions were false.
Meanwhile, addressing a meeting at TRS headquarters, KTR criticized Bandi Sanjay for organizing a dharna at the Bhagyalakshmi temple in Charminar on Friday.
“Why dharna at Charminar temple? Why not Birla Mandir or Tadbund temple?” KTR asked. He claimed that BJP’s designs to create problems between Hindus and Muslims are clear.
The BJP leader had visited the temple next to Charminar, which generated some tension in the area. This, he said, was to swear that he has not written a letter to the Election Commission requesting that the distribution of aid to those affected by the floods be stopped, as alleged by the TRS.
KTR also ridiculed the promise made by Bandi Sanjay that if BJP wins the GHMC polls he will give up all traffic challans in the city. “They think they can fool people. Why doesn’t BJP pay for challans in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh or Karnataka?” asked the leader of TRS.
